Player of the Match
Tim David was rightly awarded Player of the Match for his spectacular innings, which tilted the match decisively in Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s favor. Entering the crease towards the end of the innings, he launched a savage attack on Chennai Super Kings bowlers, scoring 70 runs off only 25 balls. His knock included several towering sixes and some vicious hitting, particularly in the death overs, by which time the asylum-seeking scoring rate was beyond recovery. David’s frosty temperament in the trenches and his ability to muscle quality bowling helped lift RCB to an enormous total, and it was also clearly the decisive factor in both sides.
Match Summary
Result: Royal Challengers Bengaluru won by 43 runs
Player of the Match: Tim David (70* off 25)
RCB put on perhaps the most dominant display of batting this season, with an incredible finish in the death overs that totally altered the tide. Though Sarfaraz Khan and the lower-middle order tried to rescue the chase, CSK could not score enough runs. The emphatic win not only helped RCB inch closer to the two points but also showcased their explosive batting depth and balanced bowling attack.
